This Morning
This morning, when I looked up to the sky
I had to lower my gaze, and shield my eyes
I scanned the Heavens, looking for cloud
But the morning winds ensured, there were none around
Our life giving Orb was insanely bright
Keeping my eyelids, almost, shut tight
As I motored to work, in the rearview mirror I glanced
Had to duck from the glare that glittered and pranced
Perhaps it was retribution, for blocking His view
Regarding His Planets, as a motley crew
Over a Solar Eclipse, we have no grasp
Perhaps He was indignant, that Moon, interrupted his task
For the rest of the day, our sky was a glorious blue
And the colours of Nature took on a brilliant hue
Our punishment we took, with a smile that was wry
A magnificent day, why would we cry?
